The Story: Family photos often have a story attached to them.
Here is my story: I took the photo below of my young sons when I first arrived on the East Coast from California as a single mother. Facing huge challenges, I learned to trust the scripture:
“They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built” (Luke 6:48).
Every time I looked at the photo, it gave me hope that my family was with me, that we were standing on the Rock, and that God would provide for us. I gave copies of the photo to several family members, and their Aunt Debra, a fellow Christian, commissioned me to take an updated version of of the boys, then 20 and 22, in a similar pose. I created the second photo while I was praying about a missions trip to the Dominican Republic in 2014, and the idea was born.
